Strategic and advisory committee

Through this Committee, our goal is to bring together key figures and high-level leaders from diverse fields related to Sustainable Development, Sociology, Science and Engineering to enrich our knowledge and broaden our vision as Founding leaders.

We envisioned creating a "benevolent" yet highly demanding group—one that reflects our own values of rigor, critical thinking, and innovation—to challenge, stimulate, and refine our internationally ambitious project. This think tank not only enhances TERRA IMPACT SOCIETY’s credibility but also provides us with complementary expertise, fostering dynamic interactions and a truly effective collective intelligence.

As Dame Jane Goodall recently declared in Paris during her “Speech for History” at UNESCO, where we had the privilege of being invited: "No organization can succeed alone. We must collaborate, unite, for a better world."

It is with this vision that an international team of highly experienced professionals supports us daily, sharing their firsthand expertise gained at the highest levels—on the ground, in factories, and most importantly, over the long term. The support of such a community of peers continuously inspires and challenges us, driving us to push boundaries and refine our impact.

Our greatest pride and ultimate goal is to share with you and our Committee members a vision of excellence and high standards, driven by a positive, inclusive, and pragmatic mindset.

H. E. Mr. Cherif Rahmani’s career has been guided by a profound commitment to the protection of our planet. As a Minister, he has worked tirelessly to greatly advance environmental law in Algeria. Under his guidance, new specialized institutions have been established with the aim of creating and implementing an environmental policy, which is at the service of sustainable development.

He has also established model financial and economic instruments aimed at promoting a tax system in Algeria based on international criteria that adhere to the polluter pays principle. He has brought a fundamental contribution to the implementation of the National Action Plan for Environment and Sustainable Development. This approach, adopted by the Algerian Government, is based on four major objectives: improving the health and quality of life; improving the productivity of natural capital; reducing economic losses and improving competitiveness; and improving the global environment (e.g. reducing greenhouse gases and impacts of climate change).

Mr. Rahmani has made significant contributions in his capacity as President of the Foundation ‘Deserts du Monde’ and as Honorary Spokesperson of the United Nations International Year of Deserts and Desertification. For example, the creation of the Institute of Deserts and the Museum of Deserts, the rehabilitation of Fort de Tinerkouk, the International Conference on the Biodiversity of Deserts (Brazil), the International Conference on Women and Desertification (Italy), the Second International Symposium on Desertification and Migration (Spain) and the International Scientific Conference on Deserts and Desertification (Tunisia), as well as the organization of the Third Festival of Cultures and Civilizations of the People of the Deserts.

Climate Anthropology: New Knowledge, Ecological and Climate Crises

Since 2014, I have been conducting action research on climate knowledge anthropology with young adolescents, exploring how climate disruption knowledge is transmitted in education and how to foster critical thinking and awareness of the ecological and climate crises. This international initiative, spanning over 30 countries (Europe, Latin America, Africa, and India), engages 28,000 students across 177 schools, empowering them to reflect, propose, and take action. With a focus on both global and local challenges, the project has resulted in 60 concrete action plans, designed and led by students, highlighting their role in shaping a more sustainable future.
